Images / Attachments Don't Show in Webmail

If, when you open a mail in webmail (https://mail.gelecekint.com), images show up as empty boxes or you can't see/download an attachment, the problem usually comes from a security setting, the browser, or the mail's format. Let's solve it step by step.

1. "Show images" warning: For your privacy, webmail blocks images from remote servers by default. A warning like "Images in this message were blocked / Show images" appears at the top of the mail. If you trust the sender, click Show Images; the images load. To permanently show images from certain senders, you can mark them as safe/address book contacts.

2. Attachment doesn't show:

  • If there is a paperclip (📎) icon in the mail list, there is an attachment; open the mail and scroll to the bottom, where attachments are usually listed at the very end of the message.
  • If the sender added the attachment as "inline" or as a cloud link instead of a file, it may not appear like a classic attachment; look at the link in the mail body.
  • Some non-secure file types (e.g. executable files) may have been blocked for security reasons.

3. Browser-related problems: The browser most often blocks images/attachments from loading.

  1. Refresh the page (with Ctrl+F5 to bypass the cache).
  2. Turn off ad blocker / privacy extensions for this site; they can block image and attachment downloads.
  3. Remove the pop-up blocker; some attachments open in a new tab.
  4. Try a different browser or a private/incognito window.
  5. Clear the browser cache/cookies and log back in to webmail.

4. If downloading doesn't work: Try "preview" instead of "download", or vice versa. If the downloaded file won't open, make sure the correct program is installed (e.g. a reader for PDFs).

5. Is the problem in the mail or on your end? Open the same mail on another device or browser and see whether the image/attachment shows. If it's missing everywhere, the attachment may genuinely not have arrived; ask the sender to resend it. If it's only missing in your browser, the solution is in the browser steps above.

Tip: If there's a difference between a program (Outlook/Thunderbird) and webmail, which environment it appears in narrows down the problem. If the attachment/image still doesn't show despite all the steps, write to destek@gelecekint.com with the mail's sender, subject, and which browser you're using; we'll examine the message on the server side and verify whether the attachment actually exists.
