🛠️ Email Troubleshooting · Gelecek İnternet ve Network Teknolojileri
Having the same mail land in your inbox again and again is both annoying and fills your mailbox unnecessarily. The good news: the mail isn't really multiplying; usually your email program is downloading the same mail repeatedly. The problem is almost always in the sending/downloading settings and can be solved.
Most common cause: "leave a copy" in the POP settings + a download error. If your account is set up as POP and the program can't download the mail and delete it from the server, it re-downloads the same mail from the start on every check cycle. The solution is to set up the account as IMAP (incoming mail.gelecekint.com port 143). With IMAP, mail is kept on the server and isn't repeated.
Second cause: re-sending during an SMTP timeout. When you're sending a mail and the connection is slow, the program may think "it didn't send" and send the mail again; yet the mail went out each time. The recipient receives the same mail multiple times. In this case:
Step-by-step check:
Cleaning up duplicated mail: Deleting the copies eases your mailbox; but first fix the cause above, otherwise the copies will come back. Switching to IMAP permanently solves the problem in most cases.
If the recipient is complaining: If they say "the same mail came from you several times," the cause is most likely your send timeout; increase the SMTP send timeout duration and check your connection.
If the repetition persists even after you've corrected the settings, write to destek@gelecekint.com with the program you use and whether the account is POP or IMAP; let's reconfigure the account correctly.
