Modems can occasionally freeze; restarting fixes most problems. However, restarting and resetting are very different.

Restart (keeps your settings):

1. Press the power button or unplug it.
2. Wait 30 seconds.
3. Turn it on and wait 2-3 minutes for the lights to return to normal.

This deletes no settings; it's the first method you should try.

Factory reset (erases everything): This deletes the Wi-Fi name/password and the internet connection settings. It's only needed if the device has become inaccessible or the admin password has been forgotten.

1. Find the small Reset hole on the back.
2. Hold it down with a thin object for 10-15 seconds.
3. Release it when the lights go off and come back on.
4. The default Wi-Fi details are on the label on the bottom of the modem.
