Creating and Managing a Database (MySQL)

WordPress and many other applications store their data in a MySQL database. You can create one in cPanel in a matter of minutes.

  1. In cPanel, open MySQL Databases.
  2. Enter a name for the new database (e.g. site_wp) and click Create Database.
  3. Create a user with a username and a strong password.
  4. Add the user to the database.
  5. On the privileges screen, check All Privileges and save.

Important: cPanel prepends your account name to the database and username (e.g. user_site_wp); use the full name when configuring your software. With phpMyAdmin you can view tables, take a .sql backup via Export, and restore via Import. Use a separate database/user for each application. If you get "Error establishing a database connection," the username/password/name is wrong; if it persists, email destek@gelecekint.com.
