Changing the PHP Version

PHP is the language that many applications, including WordPress, run on. An up-to-date PHP version provides both speed and security; however, older themes/plugins may be incompatible.

  1. In cPanel, open Select PHP Version (or MultiPHP Manager).
  2. Check the relevant domain.
  3. Choose the target version (8.1/8.2 is recommended for current projects).
  4. Click Apply.

After the change, test the home page, subpages, wp-admin, and any form/payment features. If you get a white screen or an error, a plugin/theme is usually incompatible; revert to the previously working version, then update it and try again. Take a full backup before upgrading and make sure the required extensions (mysqli, curl, gd) are enabled. If you're unsure or the site won't load, revert to the old version and email destek@gelecekint.com.
